The SSAA (Vic) and VicHealth A Partnership for Health
Range Officer Program
Range Officer training is one of the initiatives developed through the Partnership for Health scheme between the SSAA (Vic) and VicHealth. This program aims to increase the number of accredited range officers in Victoria which will lead to increased opportunities for members to participate in the sport as the facilities will be able to remain open. It is a SSAA (Vic) policy that all ranges open to the public must be controlled by a qualified Range Officer to ensure the safety of all participants.
Not all country branches have accredited Chief Range Safety Officers to deliver the Range Officer's Course and this program will address that issue. By accrediting Chief Range Safety Officers at each facility, the SSAA (Vic) increases our capacity to accredit further Range Officers in the future.
This program will assist the SSAA (Vic) in delivering Range Officer training to rural and metropolitan branches as well as training Chief Range Safety Officers to assist in the delivery of future Range Officer courses.
Another initiative that has been developed for the Range Officer program is a bi-yearly "Coaching and Officials Newsletter". This newsletter contains plenty of useful information on various topics relating to Range Officers as well as information on upcoming courses. This newsletter is sent out to all our accredited coaches and range officers as well as being available online

If you are interested in becoming a coach or want to know more about it, contact the state office on (03) 8892 2777. We urge anyone who is interested in seeing the sport prosper for future generations to consider how they can help and contact us at the state office.
This project has been made possible through the assistance SSAA (Vic) has received from VicHealth and we would like to thank them for their commitment to sport through their funding programs. No doubt the benefits of their involvement will be a healthier and more vibrant community.
