Hunting & Conservation Activities

Your Hunting Future in Victoria is at risk!

On the 19th of July 2007, the Victorian Environment Assessment Council (VEAC) released it's draft proposals paper for the River Red Gum Forrest Investigations. To view the document in full click here

Hunting and Conservation groups allow shooters to use their skills to assist in the conservation of native fauna and flora through the management of feral and other pest species. In order to participate in this activity, certain skills must be acquired, such as a minimum marksmanship ability and satisfactory completion of an accreditation program consisting of map reading, navigation, firearm safety, wildlife appreciation and survival / bushcraft skills.

This activity combines the challenge of hunting with the accuracy of target shooting and throws in bush craft, travel and camaraderie. What else could you ask for? The SSAA (Vic) has a number of hunting clubs and opportunities for you to participate, click in the clubs below for further information.
