Pistol & Handgun shooting
A wide variety of pistol competitions are conducted within SSAA clubs
throughout Victoria. These include air pistol and other Olympic–type precision
matches. The type of matches offered by your local club will depend on
the club's history, its facilities and the interests of its members. Experimentation
and development of both equipment and rules for matches are encouraged.
Whatever your interest, experience or equipment, the SSAA VIC has a pistol
discipline that will suit you.

Steps to joining a Pistol Club
Step 1: Visit a club and try out the sport.
Step 2: Join the SSAA.
Step 3: Join a Pistol Club.
Step 4: Apply for a 'Probationary Handgun Licence'.
Step 5: Complete a Handgun Safety Course.
Step 6: Start Competition shooting.
Step 7: Apply for your Handgun Licence.
Step 8: Arrange your Safekeeping facilities.
Step 9: Apply for a Permit to Acquire a Handgun.
Step 10: Start shooting more Competitions.
